CPA Grants-Milan New Mexico Fly-in – April 24-26
The Colorado Aviation Historical Society and Cibola County Historical Society (CCHS) will host this first CPA fly-in event of 2015. CAHS pilots are welcome to join in this event at the Grants-Milan airport (GNT). The growing Airways Museum here is restoring the 1953 CAA Flight Service Station; Steve Owen of CCHS is our CAHS Aviation Archaeology partner here. The local Chamber of Commerce (www.grants.org) will assist with event planning. See CPA’s or CAHS’ websites for updates and details at: www.coloradopilots.org or www.colahs.org .
Free shuttle vans, or your rental car, will provide transportation between airport, motels, down-town museums and galleries, and the area visitor center. *Personal car rentals, at $50 per day, must be made well in advance. On Friday, a shuttle will run to the golf course clubhouse for ‘duffing’ and a 19th hole visit. *Red Lion Inn hotel runs $55 per nite plus tax, with breakfast. Other meals are "on own." (AvAr Note: An aircraft crash site visit may not be feasible with the other activities, and weather. A second fly-in at a future date can focus on AvAr crash sites.)
*Car rentals: Glenn Bailey, Corley Ford, 888-524-4624
*Red Lion Inn: 505-287-7901; http://www.redlion.com/grants
